I tend toward the spazzier, skronkier, grimier, and more aggro-punk shapes within the genre, but the twinkly/jangly/emo/jazz-instrumental two-handed tap-workouts obvs have their place in the world as well. So, feel free to post whatever ya think fits into this somewhat polarizing crossover category of number-crunching music, and we'll see just what sums up in the end!

Yeah, I was big into Ruins and Dillinger Escape Plan, and lots of spazzy, time-sig riddled sounds spanning a near half-century of weird rock music already, but my big intro to what I consider the true era of mathrock was in 2007 when I almost simultaneously discovered the albums There's No 666 In Outer Space by Hella and Growing by Sleeping People. Both were pretty important in some ways, but the latter really stuck out as something different at the time, so yeah, I listened to it a lot for a bit back then. Anyway, haven't listened to it in years until just now, but here's what to me was the "hit" from an album I still consider a pretty big deal for the genre at the time:
