Clara Engel's beautiful haunting song, with deep meditative fingerstyle guitar patterns and contemplative elemental cello accompaniment, is set to fragments of The Golem, a partially lost 1915 German silent horror film written and directed by Paul Wegener and Henrik Galeen. The old-fashioned black-and-white movie scenes of mysticism, romance, conflict and mystery are given new enhanced meanings through Clara's thought-provoking words, clearly and smoothly cascading on the cyclic ambient harmonies that wash against the shores of consciousness.
'At Night They Race Through the Stars' appears on Clara's 2019 full-length album Where a City Once Drowned, available on Bandcamp!
