Ho-oh! I have organized a brand-new musical presentation as The Sentinel's Marvellous Kaleidoscope - Concert Curation (Facebook / Instagram / Twitter). It is my humble pleasure to be hosting Splendid Industries' member Clara Engel in Guelph on Friday June 21st upon Guelph's legendary Golden Bus.
I first heard of Clara through this very platform, a growing new Toronto-based music community of weird, eclectic, fascinating artists and bands from across Southern Ontario. After listening to their late-2018 EP A Shore Far From Any Prison, I was ingrained and mesmerized with their subtle peaceful guitar-work and cosmic poetic voice that are central to their strain of introspective avant folk music. This year they have released a successful crowd funded LP Where a City Once Drowned: The Bethlehem Tapes Vol. II in April, and another EP Little Blue Fox in May. After seeing a social media post about wanting to play shows outside of Toronto, and with me having starting to curating concerts, I reached out to Clara about coming back to Guelph. The stars alighted to partner with Jenny Mitchell to have Clara perform on the Golden Bus.
This will be a intimate wondrous celebration not to miss out on, especially being the summers solstice! There are only 20 spots available! If you are interested in attending, please contact The Sentinel's Marvellous Kaleidoscope - Concert Curation (smk@cfru.ca), The Golden Bus Stop, Nicholas Cooper or Jenny Mitchell to arrange to pick up a $10 Golden Ticket! The exact parked location of the Golden Bus will be revealed to ticket-holders closer to the date.
